Go ahead… read the comments.
Respectify creates healthy communication on your website.
- Your comment contains logic that seems right, but when looked at doesn't hold together.
- 'every bear is like this. Polar bears and grizzlies, they all think the same thing.': It's an overgeneralization that attributes human-like thoughts to bears. It dismisses any nuanced discussion about them.
- Your comment will be read by others as rude.
- 'dumb animals': Calling bears 'dumb animals' is disrespectful and dismissive. It promotes a negative stereotype without any supporting evidence.
Can you edit your comment to take the above feedback into account, please?

Keep Relevant
Want comments to stay about the topic of the page or blog they're on? Respectify can do that.
It's configurable. The world isn't binary and neither are our settings.
Disallow What You Don't Want
Got a problem with trolls?
Got people repeatedly posting 'good faith' comments that are not?
('What about...', 'I'm only saying that...', 'Not all polar bears...')
Tell Respectify what to disallow. It won't be posted.
Avoid Dog Whistles
Sometimes people write things that sound like they're saying one thing, but their words are coded — to mean something else to some readers.
For example, someone might write: 'Those polar bears are always ruining our porridge.' To most readers, this seems like a complaint about bears and food. But to certain groups, it's actually saying something else entirely.
(The real comments are not about bears.)
You can avoid this by telling Respectify what not to allow.
Tailor it for your site, topics, and audience.
Help people communicate well.
It's easy to phrase things badly.
In the heat of the moment, we don't think clearly.
How will what you write be seen by the other person?
Are you really understanding their point, or replying to what you think their point is?
Respectify catches when a comment isn't phrased well. It tells you how and why.
Retain disagreement.
Folks, this is key to what Respectify is.
We don't try to prevent someone posting their genuine opinion. We do provide safeguards, for you the site owner, to disallow bad-faith comments or specific topics or more. But ultimately, with editorialising a light touch, we believe in helping people of different views interact.
We do prevent comments being posted — but our ethos is to help the commenter grow and learn.
We figure Respectify should, comment by comment, feedback by feedback, help the world think better.
Teaching Better Thinking
Healthy interaction on your site means that what people say is thought through. It hangs together.
Respectify understands when a comment is poorly thought out:
- Are there logical fallacies?
- Is the comment objectionable to others?
- Does the comment just not help, and brings the conversation down?
- Or is it simply low effort?
Catch these (all are on by default) before they poison your site.
Respectify will teach the user how to say it better. And if it's truly awful, it will tell them so. And why.
Configurable.
The world isn't binary, and neither are our settings.
We let you tune Respectify to your site, topics, and audience.
By the way: Spam.
Did we mention spam? We do that too.
Completely different approach than other systems. And we think you'll find it very effective.
